What Does WLD have for my group?
Churches
Our retreats are popular with youth groups, men's groups, and women's groups. We provide the facilities, meals, and offer our activities (horses, challenge course, archery, riflery, sledding, etc.) during your group's free time. Each retreat is responsible for the program, speakers, and chaperons. WLD Ranch provides a peaceful setting for your group to build connections, renew faith commitments, and explore God-given purpose.
Schools
Field Days, designed with school groups in mind, give your group a chance to ride horses and experience our challenge/ropes course. Field Days emphasize teambuilding and learning to get along with others as you are challenged to accomplish tasks together. School groups can also take advantage of our educational days, learning about the cowboys, pioneers, or the Civil War in a hands-on atmosphere.
Homeschoolers
Educational Days are perfect for homeschooling families looking for a hands-on learning experience. Come supplement your curriculum by learning about the cowboys, Indians, pioneers, slavery and the Civil War, or nature. Homeschooling families also can take advantage of our horse riding lessons.
Families – NEW OPPORTUNITIES!
Families are invited to our new Family Getaways! Bring your family out for a weekend event designed just for your family. We also invite families to our annual Spring Open House (watch the calendar for details), a day to experience our activities, to tour our facilities, and to learn more about summer camp and other programs. For summer 2007, we are offering a Family Camp, so watch for summer 2007 updates. Other opportunities for families include Parent/Child horse lessons, horse rides, family reunions, birthday parties, and attending our Friday night rodeos during the summer. Please contact us or explore the website for more information.
Organizations
WLD Ranch offers a variety of programs that may fit well with your organizational needs. Whether it is a day of teambuilding on the challenge course, a dinner in a rustic/western setting, a meeting place, or another organizational event, WLD Ranch strives to provide a peaceful setting for your group to build connections, renew commitments, and explore purpose. Contact us for more details about using our facility in these ways.
Boy Scouts
Our 88 wooded acres provide a great opportunity for Boy Scouts to hike and camp out. Our challenge/ropes course teaches boys to solve problems and work together to accomplish goals. Boy Scouts can also schedule a horse retreat for the horse enthusiasts in their group.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts use WLD Ranch most frequently to earn their Horse Fan, Horse Rider, and Horse Sense badges. Scheduling a horse retreat is the perfect opportunity to learn about horses and earn these fun badges. Call Anna for more information about scheduling.
Volunteer Opportunities
WLD Ranch depends heavily on our volunteers to help things run smoothly. We enjoy working with teenagers (age 13 and up) during weekends and during the summer. Women interested in helping out can join the efforts of the Triple L (Ladies Laboring for the Lord) and men can volunteer to help with maintenance and building projects. Homeschool students often volunteer with the horses or program activities during our Field Days for school groups. Adult volunteers are invaluable in assisting with program activities such as facilitating challenge course events and supervising our target/shooting sports. Interested in volunteering? Give us a call and we'll let you know where we need help.
Opportunities for Individuals
Our Spring Open House is a great opportunity to visit the Ranch and try out some of our activities. Individuals can also schedule a trail ride in conjunction with other groups already using our horses. Individuals are welcome to participate in the age appropriate summer camp programs we offer in June, July, and August. Feel free to contact us for more details.
