An Empty Grave
Saturday Apr 4th, 2015
Graves are made for filling with those who’ve passed away;
All joy turns to mourning as clay returns to clay.
The life gone by seems pointless; what’s good appears to cease;
Death has claimed the victory; there is no hope of peace.
But hope can be restored; all has not been lost.
The Son of God came down to earth; His death paid the greatest cost.
And death is not the victor; Christ arose, the way to pave;
Our eternal life is assured for there is an empty grave.
Graves are made for filling but one was made to show
That God approved of His Son, and to heaven we may go.
Our victory is through Christ; death can only be our gain.
The grave of Christ is empty so our hope is not in vain.
Our hope has been restored; all has not been lost.
The Son of God came down to earth; His death paid the greatest cost.
And death is not the victor; Christ arose, the way to pave;
Our eternal life is assured for there is an empty grave.
"An Empty Grave" (by Joseph Preston) is a poem of hope for those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. No matter how tough your life is, there is hope in Christ, the one who died for us and rose again. Happy Easter!
